The East Falls Historical Society is presenting an opportunity for the community to join us on a comfortable bus tour to the Michener Art Museum in Doylestown on Friday, November 15 to see “From Philadelphia to Monaco: Grace Kelly Beyond the Icon”. The bus will leave from Midvale Avenue at the intersection of McMichael Street at 11:15 a.m. in order to be on time for a personalized guided tour by a museum docent from 12:30 to 1:30. As we travel, we will be treated to a talk by Ken Hinde about the history of Doylestown and the founding of the Michener Museum, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary. After the guided tour the group will have an hour to explore other areas of the museum. For those who would prefer to be outside, Ken will take them on a walking tour of the cultural community.
This exhibition traces the unique path Grace Kelly took from Philadelphia to Monaco, inviting viewers to discover the life of Grace Kelly (1929-1982) beyond the fairy tale. This exhibition brings us up close to the stage and screen legend, fashion icon, princess, United Nations advocate for children, and international spokesperson for arts and culture. This will be the only venue for this exhibition in the U.S.
The cost of the trip, $45, includes transportation, admission to the museum and the guided tour. As seating will be limited, it is requested that you get in your reservation by sending your check, made out to “The East Falls Historical Society” (or EFHS) to:
