“To Catch a Thief” showing at Tuttleman Center

“To Catch a Thief”, starring Grace Kelly and Cary Grant will be shown at the Tuttleman Center, Philadelphia University campus, School House Lane and Vaux Street on Saturday, October 6, at 8:00 p.m.
Filmed on the French coast of Monaco in 1955, it was during the filming of this movie that Grace met the Prince, fell in love and married him in April, 1956, becoming Princess of Monaco. On display will be artifacts and memorabilia from Grace Kelly movies; posters, dolls and portraits from the EFHS and Drexel College of Medicine archives. The Philadelphia premier of the movie was at the Fox Theater. It was a benefit for the Woman’s Medical College, arranged by Mrs. John B. Kelly, Grace’s mother, who was a board member of WMC. The EFHS is showing this movie as part of events leading up to the installation of a Pennsylvania Historical Marker honoring the Kelly Family. This event is funded in part by a grant from the Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia.
